 These studies clearly demonstrate that only a small proportion of companies which carry out risk assessment do it in a comprehensive way including also psychosocial risks. On the basis of these results, recommendations for practical implementation are developed.

 The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) generated a structured overview of the existing literature on the phenomenon of presenteeism. The reason for undertaking this review was the recognition that the concept of presenteeism is increasingly paid attention to - in Germany as well as internationally. In addition to that, the BAuA observed that there is no conceptual framework concerning presenteeism.

This results in a rising rate of work interruptions and multitasking demands. The present BAuA report gives an overview of current research on multitasking and interruptions in several scientific disciplines, compares both concepts and discusses them in relation to age.
